Fortitude
Floribunda • Sweet rose scent • 3' tall x 3' wide • Created by B. Jalbert
True to its name, 'Fortitude' produces a strong bushy shrub and foliage with a healthy, glossy sheen. A profusion of rich satin pink flowers makes her a winner even in small-space gardens or patio containers. This frilly and fragrant rose is named for Brad Jalbert's Aunt Marie and her inspiring women's dragon boat team, Abreast In A Boat. A substantial portion of 'Fortitude" profits help defray the costs of keeping five dragonboats operational.

Royal City Rose
Floribunda • Light rose scent • 3' wide x 3' tall • Zone 5 • Created by B. Jalbert • Photo by Nick Balachanoff
Royal City Rose has proven itself in our climate over and over. She is doing us proud in no-spray public parks, and pleases everyone who grows one. Flowers are beautifully formed in a classic tea rose style and are held proudly on a dense-growing, healthy shrub. Royal City Rose has taken every test we have put her through and has come out blooming like a champ. Grows easily as a landscape shrub rose, but produces elegant "real rose" flowers! Colour is soft shades of apricot with warm pink hue.

Dedicated to Ms Loretta Lynn in honour of her 50 years in the music business, and named for her album Van Lear Rose, the 'Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose' is an ever-blooming floribunda known for its deep, rich apricot colour. Its buds open into a cottage-style flower, and the shrub grows to about two feet tall and wide, an ideal size for most gardens and large containers.

Mama Millie
Shrub (resembles a Hybrid Musk) • Wild rose scent • 5' wide x 5-8' tall • Created by B. Jalbert
I named one of my very early roses for a dear friend and neighbour, Millie, who also happened to be one of Select Roses' earliest supporters. It's an amazing shrub with very old-world flowers and form. It produces hundreds and hundreds of roses in clusters, far too many to count. Delicate colour and flower on a brute of a plant! Light sweet wild rose fragrance. Very nice shrub for mixed gardens.

Elfi von Dassanowsky
Floribunda • Citrusy rose perfume • 2' wide x 3' tall • Created by B. Jalbert
Elfi von Dassanowsky is a warmly coloured floribunda, blending shades of light peach, apricots, yellows and soft pink. The plant is strong and robust, with wonderful healthy foliage to set up the elegant flowers. Her fragrance is sweet and alluring, almost citrus-like. 'Elfi' flowers well all season long with both single stems and clusters of bloom. She is an easy to grow rose that also makes a wonderful cutting flower.

Pam Erikson
Floribunda • Mild scent • 2' wide x 2' tall • Created by B. JalbertNamed for my long-time friend and award-winning daylily hybridizer, Pamela Erikson. Her screaming red unfading flowers stand up to rain or hot sun. This heavy-blooming floribunda calls out to you from across the garden, just like its joyful namesake. Flowers are fully double, and last well on the bush or when cut. The plant is rounded and bushy to about two feet. An excellent choice for borders or large containers.

Tootie's Rockin' K Rose
Floribunda • Sweetly scented • 2' tall x 2' wide • Created by B. Jalbert
This floribunda is such a charmer. I love the frilly cottage-style flowers of this rose, and its sweet rose fragrance. There are very few roses that have such a wonderful perfume to match their pretty flowers. The blooms are peachy-pink, very double, with a wonderful old-fashioned look to them. The plant grows compact and bushy to about two feet, making it ideal for small tidy gardens or larger containers. This rose is a keeper for its fragrance alone. Named for Tootie Moore (a legend in the rodeo world) and her Rockin' K Ranch.
