George's 90th Birthday!

What a thrill it was to name a rose for my dear friend, mentor who taught me about rose breeding and a legendary Canadian rose breeder! George Mander breeder of the multi award wining Canadian White star rose choose this variety when I told him I wanted to honor his 90th year with us. George loves healthy roses with brilliant colours that make people smile. This is our first crop of plants from the Ontario growing fields.

The flowers start out shades or apricot then open to show blends of gold, orange all deepening with hits of pink to carmine as the bloom ages. The plant is almost thorn less and looks lush and beautiful with our without bloom. This is a superb tidy growing and colourful garden rose. It’s foliage is a remarkable lush deep glossy green that almost looks to good to be real! George makes a very handsome plant in the garden. Fragrance is light, lemon with rose. Grows to about 3.5-4 feet.
