Commissioned Roses

Liberty

In 2017, William McCarthy, long time friend and patron of Brad Jalbert and Select Roses and himself a Master Rosarian, commissioned his tenth Jalbert rose. This one was to honour those who served in the armed services, and would landscape a monument featuring a Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV III) that had served in Afghanistan. The rose was requested to resemble the iconic poppy worn on Remembrance Day.

Outstanding disease-free landscape rose with brilliant single poppy-red blooms. Rounded, dense shrub with lush glossy leaves, proving roses can look good in leaf or flower. Early and fast to rebloom, setting hips for the fall encore. Brilliant for full beds, hedges, containers and masses. Clip to shape; requires no special care. When people see this plant in bloom they comment on the spectacular show and ask that type of shrub it is. That is the mark of a truly superior landscape rose.
